Although I'm detecting tiny hints of Fall in the air (hey Autumn, let's do coffee soon!), this afternoon was still firmly summer, still hot low 100s with blazing sunshine. This is a short little side trail I took just to get a taste of it, since it's been a while since I've been out there.It was delicious. Thank you sir, I'll have another.

DeleteIt looks like you were riding in my neighborhood. The Myrtle tunnel under SR51 scares me, on foot or on a bike. Coming to it from the east side of 51, one has to make blind turn to go into it and I never know who or what's going to be there. For that reason, I usually cross SR51 via the tunnel to the south at Maryland Avenue or the tunnel to the north between Loma and Linger lanes. Kudos to you for using the Myrtle tunnel.
ReplyDeleteI've ridden thru it countless times but didn't know it was called "Myrtle tunnel", but it makes sense. I've felt the same way about it, particularly late in the afternoon, alone, but the sketchiest thing I've found in the tunnel has been mud after a storm. I've run into much sketchier whos/whats along the Arizona canal. I don't think I knew there was a tunnel between Loma and Linger, I'll check it out next time, thanks for the tip!
DeleteI don't think it's officially known as the "Myrtle Tunnel." I just call it that because if follows the alignment of Myrtle Avenue.
